Australian tennis legend Alicia Molik is tipping Novak Djokovic to finish with the all-time Grand Slam record and go down as the greatest player in tennis history. Djokovic, 35, defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open final to tie Rafael Nadal’s on the all-time Grand Slam list with 22 Majors.
It is not a secret that Djokovic wants the all-time Grand Slam record and Molik believes there is a good chance the Serb indeed finishes with the most Grand Slams in tennis history. “I think the start of many more, he is going to top the charts and he will be remembered as the greatest of all time.
I still think he’s got three or four more [titles] left in him, at least. Let’s wait and see but he is dominating men’s tennis,” Molik said on Nine’s Today.
Molik tips Djokovic for more Grand Slam success
Djokovic, who will be turning 36 in May, is definitely still a very dominant figure in tennis.
Moments after clinching his 22nd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, Djokovic noted that he still feels very confident in his chances and admitted he is hungry for more Grand Slam success. “I really don’t want to stop here.
I don’t have any intention to stop here. I feel great about my tennis. I know that when I’m feeling good physically and mentally present, I have a chance to win any slam against anybody. I like my chances going forward. But, again, nothing is given or nothing is for granted.
Of course, there are a lot of players that want this trophy or want the No.1 position in the world,” Djokovic explained after his Australian Open triumph. Djokovic’s next big goal will be to win his third French Open title.
Last year, Djokovic was beaten by Rafael Nadal in the French Open quarterfinal. Nadal has been by far the most dominant player at the French Open but Djokovic will certainly come to Roland Garros believing that he can win the title.
