
Spaniard Quim Vidal won the Red Sea Little Venice Open with 202 (68 66 68, -14 ) strokes, the second event on the 2023 Alps Tour calendar held in Suez, Egypt. on the same course as the previous Ein Bay Open, the Sokhna GC, on 18 holes obtained from the A&B courses (par 72).

The tournament was decided with a maxi four-way play-off after the surprising Egyptian amateur Issa Abou El Ela (67 66 69), who had led since the first round, and the Dutch Davey Porsius (68 65 69) and Lars Keunen (70 66 66), who caught up with the other three leaders with a birdie on the last hole.
Vidal, 23, obtained his first title on the circuit in the seventh race he took part in, the second this year after five in 2022 as an amateur. He also played Qualifying School last November, going off on the cut. For his success he received a check for 5,800 euros out of a prize fund of 40,000 euros and now leads the order of merit.
In a blue key, good performances with placement among the top ten of the amateur Mattia Comotti, sixth with 206 (70 68 68, -10), of Luca Cianchetti, eighth with 207 (69 69 69, -9), and of the other amateur Flavio Michetti, ninth with 208 (67 74 67, -8), who after one round had been in the leading trio with Issa Abou El Ela and with the Austrian Lukas Lipold, then 15th with 210 (-6).
Behind the quartet that competed in the playoffs was the French Oihan Guillamoundeguy, fifth with 205 (-11), who was defending the title, while the Iberian Marc Sabria joined Comotti. Ten other Italians won the prize: Federico Maccario, 13th with 209 (-7), Jacopo Albertoni and Ludovico Addabbo, same score as Lipold, then Andrea Saracino, 20th with 211 (-5), Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, 23rd with 212 (-4), Andrea Romano and Enrico Di Nitto, 26th with 213 (-3), Riccardo Bregoli and Cristiano Terragni, 33rd with 214 (-2), and Manfredi Manica, 40th with 216 (par ).
The circuit will now resume with the Alps de Las Castillas scheduled for April 20-22 at the Palomarejos Golf Club in Toledo, Spain, again with a prize pool of €40,000.
