Former world No 11 Anastasija Sevastova has given birth to a baby girl Alexandra. Sevastova, 32, took to Instagram to announce the happy news. “Baby Alexandra,” Sevastova captioned the post in which she can be seen holding the baby.

Sevastova started the season at the Melbourne Summer Set 2, where she was beaten in the round-of-16. At the Australian Open, Sevastova suffered a straight-set defeat to Magda Linette in the first round. After the Australian Open, Sevastova announced an indefinite break from tennis.
In 2013, Sevastova retired from tennis due to injuries.
In early 2022, Sevastova took an indefinite break from tennis
“It was a good preparation for the pre-season, but – the first tournament, the first match with the old pain and injuries.
I can’t show my best game when playing with pain that bothers me,” Sevastova said in early February. When asked directly when she would return, Sevastova indicated she was planning to be out for an extended period.
“It all needs to be sorted out, and it takes time. I’ll take a longer break. I don’t know how long, but hopefully everything will be sorted out. I can’t predict exactly how it will be. I’ll relax and get my health in order.
If you are not ready for 100%, there is nothing to do on the field. It’s a difficult decision, but – sport is not a lifetime. I hope everyone will respect my decision. After that, I have to live, and I do not want to live with all the injuries,” Sevastova explained earlier this year.
In the end, Sevastova ended up missing the rest of the 2022 season. It remains to be seen when will Sevastova returns to action.
