Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray is seemingly very impressed with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at the Qatar World Cup. On Saturday, Messi scored the first goal in Argentina’s 2-1 win over Australia in the round-of-16.
The following day, Mbappe scored two beautiful goals in France’s 3-1 victory over Poland. “Messi is the man,” Murray tweeted on Saturday.

Murray to start the 2023 season in Australia
Murray is enjoying the Qatar World Cup and getting ready for the 2023 season. Recently, Murray revealed he plans to start his 2023 season at the Adelaide International.
Murray, 35, will be making his debut at the Adelaide International. “I’ll be starting the year in Australia, which I always really enjoy. Playing at the Adelaide International for the first time is something I’m looking forward to.
The crowds in Australia love their tennis and they’ve always been very supportive. I’ve been working hard in the off season and the Adelaide International will be great preparation for the Australian Open. I’m looking forward to seeing what Adelaide and 2023 brings,” Murray said.
Murray enters the 2023 season hoping to make a big result. Ahead of the 2022 season, Murray admitted his big goal in 2022 was to make a great Grand Slam result. Unfortunately for Murray, that didn’t happen as the three-time Grand Slam champion didn’t make it past the second round a the Grand Slam stage this year.
However, it should be noted that Murray decided to skip the French Open. Now, Murray is certainly hoping to make amends in 2023 and make a strong Grand Slam result. At the Australian Open, Murray is a five-time finalist but has never won a title there. It remains to be seen if Murray can turn back the clock and make a strong Australian Open result.
