Arina Rodionova claims she received death threats from Novak Djokovic fans after joking she should be good to go after contracting a hamstring tear. Rodionova, who competed at an ITF event in Burnie last week, made the quarterfinal before she gave Olivia Gadecki a walkover.
Through her Instagram Story, Rodionova revealed that she contracted a hamstring injury. “So I have a three-centimeter tear in my hamstring and I’ve done some research. I should be good to go tomorrow,” Rodionova wrote on her Instagram Story late last week.
On Monday, Rodionova sent out a post claiming Djokovic fans sent her death threats. “Not sure why I am getting all the death threats from Novak’s fans. For some reason, people think I was joking about the injury. Tears in hamstrings is not a joking matter, people go to the hospitals with those, and can’t walk for days, you guys.
Shame on you for turning this into a joke. Some can win Slams but the rest of us have to take time off. Also I am guessing you aren’t for the vaccines but pretty sure the one against rabies will do wonders,” Rodionova wrote on her Instagram Story.
Djokovic fans have sent death threats to Arina Rodionova all because she posted an Instagram story suggesting that “she’ll be fine tomorrow” despite a 3cm tear in her hamstring.
Shame on Djokovic fans. But again, it isn’t surprising that they have resorted to death threats.

Djokovic won the Australian Open with a 3 cm hamstring tear
At the start of the Australian Open, Djokovic was evidently having trouble with his movement and his hamstring was heavily strapped.
Then as the tournament progressed, Djokovic seemed to be doing better and he managed to win a record 10th Australian Open title. But there were those who didn’t believe Djokovic and were openly accusing the Serb’ of “faking an injury.” After the Australian Open finished, Australian Open tournament Craig Tiley came to Djokovic’s defence, saying he saw the scans of the Serb’s hamstring which showed a 3 cm tear.
Most importantly for Djokovic, he was able to win the title and tie Rafael Nadal on the all-time record list with 22 Grand Slams.
