As reported by the Baylor University website, the women’s tennis team loses only two sets in Friday morning’s match Baylor beat William & Mary 7-0 at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
Baylor won a third straight doubles point of the season with wins on courts one and two before winning all six of her singles matches.
Zsombor Velcz and Tadeas Paroulek started the game for the Bears with a 6-0 two-field run over Albert Hansen and Joseph Brailovsky, followed by a 6-4 victory by Luc Koenig and Ethan Muza on three-field over Alexander Karman and Daniele Pellerito.

3 Finn Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi’s one-on-one doubles match with George Davis and the Bill Duo was suspended after the doubles point was won at 5-4. In the singles, No. 115 Grassi Mazzuchi played his game quickly on the third court in a 6-0, 6-2 win over the Duo.
Marko MiladinoviÄ scored Baylor’s third point following his 6-4, 6-0 run over Sean Joseph on field four.
The match was won by base no. 23 on court two, beating Brailovsky 6–3, 6–4. After the clinch, Velcz (6-1, 3-6, 6-1), Paroulek (7-5, 7-5) and Muza (7-5, 4-6, 1-0(5)) completed the sweep with three more singles victories.
Michael Woodson, Baylor head coach, told: “I think the guys have done a good job overall in the tough conditions here, with a team that is very comfortable with the fast indoor courts. They were a really solid opponent this morning, well trained and confident.
It was tough, and it was exactly what we wanted we were looking for. The guys did a really good job, they were disciplined, they were competitive and they made their opponents earn every point, especially at the end of the sets.
There are a few things that we would definitely like to clean up and things we could do more smoothly on some courts, but I felt like things had gone awry and we played our games really well, and as a team we played well together.
It’s always nice to get a win in away, especially against a team like William & Mary. We are looking forward to ironing some things out and preparing for a big test against Virginia on Sunday.”
