Ben Taylor will have a wedding next week that was arranged a year ago. Ben and his chosen one wanted the wedding to take place in the spring, and in the end, March was the only option. Taylor assumed that he would not perform at The Player Championship, nor at the Masters.
However, in the end, he won a place at The Player Championship. “I thought one is difficult [to qualify for] and the other, well, you can’t not play the Masters,” he said, as quoted by golfdigest.com “After my finish at Sony Open, those that knew what they’re talking about said that I would be in the Players.
From that moment onwards, I knew I would miss a tournament that I was going to be in. I never even thought about changing the date. I like living a life with as less stress as possible. We already do it enough to ourselves on the golf course”.
Taylor and the offers
Taylor had many offers to be a part of the competition. However, he made a decision that he considers to be final and decided not to participate in the tournament. “I’ve had many people offer to help get me to the Players and back with very nice transportation,” Taylor said.
“We’ve looked at all avenues, but those that take a jab at me know [the decision is final]”. He is happy about the wedding and a large number of friends and relatives who will be part of the event. “I need a week off and couldn’t be more thrilled to have all my friends and family, closest relatives in the States and England come and celebrate the special day,” he said.
“Hopefully I’ll be there next year”. Reporters were interested in whether they will have the same problems for honeymoon? “I haven’t messed up those dates,” he said. “We’re going in December”.
