Daniil Medvedev admits he is determined to do well at the Indian Wells Masters because he does not want to “risk losing all my confidence.” Medvedev, 27, is coming off three consecutive victories in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai.
Now, Medvedev is hoping to win his fourth consecutive title in Indian Wells. In Indian Wells, Medvedev is the fifth-seeded player and has a first-round bye. “I realize that if I lose at Indian Wells I risk losing all my confidence.
Right now I’m feeling great and I want to use that to win as many matches as possible,” Medvedev said, per We Are Tennis.

Can Medvedev win his first Indian Wells title?
This year, Medvedev is making his sixth Indian Wells appearance.
So far, Medvedev hasn’t had that much in the desert as his best result has been the round-of-16 achieved in 2021. But Medvedev’s coach Gilles Cervara feels this year could be different. “He’s never really liked playing in the desert, but Doha and Dubai just swept that aside.
He thought it was impossible to play well there. It’s not. But it’s going to be different because playing in Indian Wells is very specific with the surface, the heat, the cold, the dryness, the balls. Miami is something else, but there’s no reason he can’t play well there.
In the past, his approach to the playing conditions and how he feels about his tennis at the moment has brought his level down,” Cervara told Tennis Majors. Now, Medvedev is in a much better place. At the start of the year, Medvedev suffered a shock straight-set defeat in the Australian Open third round against Sebastian Korda.
During that match, Medvedev didn’t look well in his game. After winning Dubai, Medvedev admitted that he was battling a lot of doubts after the disappointing Australian Open result. But Medvedev is now in a great form and certainly a candidate for the Indian Wells title.
