Former world No 7 David Goffin admits he is not sure if he is going to watch Break Point on Netflix as he remarked that he is not really interested in “seeing Nick Kyrgios hanging out with his girlfriend.” On January 13th, Break Point premiered on Netflix in five parts.
In the first episode, Kyrgios was the most featured player as the episode details parts from his 2022 Australian Open campaign. Kyrgios was accompanied by his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi during last year’s Australian Open and naturally there were many parts where she was also shown.
“I haven’t watched it yet. I am not really interested in seeing Kyrgios hanging out with his girlfriend. This series is not interesting for players or people who live on the tennis tour.” Goffin said, per 7NEWS Australia

After Kyrgios withdrew late from the inaugural United Cup due to an ankle injury, he received a backlash from Australian media.
Through his Twitter account, Kyrgios addressed the criticism directed at him. In his message, Kyrgios hit out at his critics by pointing out that he was the player the Netflix directors picked to be featured in the first episode of their tennis documentary.
“Haha so after all this, all the media, journalism saying how bad I am for the sport, disrespecting the game & just a pure villain, I am going to be the number 1 episode on Netflix – to grow our fan base, basically trying to put tennis on the map again.
And essentially putting more money in everyone’s pockets that’s involved with tennis, you all look really ridiculous now. Your apology should be as loud as your disrespect was,” Kyrgios wrote on Twitter. Meanwhile, both Goffin and Kyrgios have withdrawn from the Australian Open.
Kyrgios retired due to a knee injury, while Goffin retired due to an illness. “Unfortunately I have to withdraw from the Australian Open. I’ve been sick all night and can’t compete and get on the court today. Time to recover and prepare the next event.
See you next year @australianopen,” Goffin announced on Instagram.
