Feliciano Lopez’s last workout in the gym at the Rafael Nadal Academy left all his fans stunned. The Spaniard, a specialist on grass-courts, was training hard in the gym, including weight lifting, biceps and pectoral exercises.

When Feliciano heartened his friend Nadal after Wimbledon 2022
Wimbledon 2022 did not have a positive ending for Rafael Nadal.
With victories over Francisco Cerundolo, Ricardas Berankis, Lorenzo Sonego, Botic van de Zandschulp and Taylor Fritz, the Spanish champion reached his eighth semifinal at the Championships. The former world number 1 had to retire on the eve of the match against Nick Kyrgios, having realized he could not continue playing with that pain in his abs.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion seemed very sad at the press conference, but he made the wisest decision to avoid compromising the rest of the season. 2022 gave enormous satisfaction to the 36-year-old from Manacor, capable of winning the Australian Open and the Roland Garros.
In a long interview with MARCA, Feliciano Lopez admitted that he has no more words to describe Nadal’s greatness. Feliciano told: “When Rafael Nadal is healthy, there are very few players who can beat him. I can no longer find the words to describe Rafa’s greatness.
We are talking about a champion who has won two Grand Slams at the age of 36 and in poor physical condition, he is simply crazy. I think it was the right thing to do under the circumstances.
