Gareth Bale never ceases to amaze. He has always shown a certain affection for golf, but every time he picks up a club he shows that beyond passion there is technique. The former Real Madrid player surprised at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he is paired with the American Joseph Bramlett, with a shot from an uneven asphalt path with the flag.
Bale made a bad ‘approach’ to the green and sent the ball onto the path, but with a very subtle shot he managed to overcome the bump and place the ball very close to the hole. An impeccable shot that led to the couple ending the day in the top fifteen with a card of -7, five shots behind the leaders, the American Will Gordon and the businessman Thomas Dundon.
“First of all I was more concerned with how I was there. I was NOT able to play properly because there was a curb in front of me, and on my practice shot I hit the curb. So I thought, I’m going to really like it. I’m going to get back in position and I hit the bench.
So, of course, there was a lot of luck involved, don’t get me wrong,” Bale said after the day.

Gareth Frank Bale (born 16 July 1989 in Cardiff) is a Welsh former footballer who played as a forward. Considered one of the best footballers of his generation, grew up in the youth academy of Southampton, a team with which he made his professional debut.
In the summer of 2007, at the age of eighteen, he moved to Tottenham, with which he established himself as one of the most promising talents of his generation, winning an English League Cup and, individually, twice the PFA’s Best Player of the Year (2011 and 2013).
In the summer of 2013 he moved to Real Madrid for a total of 100 million euros,[8] which made it, at that time, the most expensive purchase in the history of football. With the Spanish team he won three Spanish league titles, one Copa del Rey, three Spanish Super Cups, five UEFA Champions Leagues, three UEFA Super Cups and four FIFA Club World Cups.
With the Welsh national team, of which he is the record holder for appearances and goals, he has participated in two editions of the European championship (2016 and 2020) and one of the world championship (2022). On 2 June 2022, for sporting and humanitarian merits, he was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a member of the Order of the British Empire.
