Jannik Sinner has every desire to start over on the right way in the ATP Tour for 2023. The Italian is determined to start the season in Australia well, as already demonstrated in 2022 with the quarterfinals won at the Australian Open.
The first events of the year will take place as always in Oceania and the Italian tennis player wants to be among the protagonists to confirm all his talent to the many, after a rather complicated year conditioned by the various injuries remedied during tournaments.
Sinner will try to give a signal to the competition and the best players in the world in the ATP 250 in Adelaide, in which he will be among the athletes at the starting line. Seeded number 6, the talented 21-year-old will make his debut against the British Kyle Edmund.
In the first match on Australian hard courts, Jannik will not have to be surprised and convinced from a game point of view. In case of victory, Sinner could challenge the winner of the match between the home favorite Kokkinakis and the American Cressy.
In both cases a very important testing ground, with the possibility of reaching the quarter-finals and facing the Russian Andrey Rublev.
Sinner warns everyone about Djokovic
In the words reported by the Australian newspaper The Age, Sinner warned everyone about the Serbian champion Novak Djokovic, with whom he trained on Friday.
Sinner explained about the former world no.1 and 9 times Australian Open champion: “I trained with Nole and I was able to directly notice that he is in good shape. It is clear that he wants to win and is determined. It is amazing to have back here him, because I think he’s one of the best players in the world, if not the best.
I don’t know him that well but for sure he is very motivated. He will try to win every game he plays, every tournament he plays, but I think physically he is very good and moves very well. To win against him you have to play your best tennis.” Nole will be the favorite for the final victory in Melbourne, despite his rivals Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.
