
Lily May Humphreys surprisingly won with 280 (70 70 73 67, -12) strokes, after a hard fought and exciting final, the Joburg Ladies Open, event of the Ladies European Tour organized in collaboration with the Sunshine Ladies Tour.
On the difficult course of the Modderfontein Golf Club (par 73), in Johannesburg in South Africa, the Englishman surpassed the Spanish Ana Pelaez Trivino and the Swedish Moa Folke, second with 282 (-10). In fourth position with 283 (-9) the South African Kiera Floyd, the Danish Nicole Broch Estrup and the Czech Klara Davidson Spilkova, who had been at the top for a few holes in the final round.
In seventh with 284 (-8 the other South African Nadia Van Der Westhuizen.

Alessandra Fanali finished in 27th place with 292 (70 72 74 76, par), who after taking the ‘card’ for the circuit at the Qualifying School last December, won for the third time in as many races at in which she took part, after having previously finished 38th (Magical Kenya Open) and seventh.
(Lalla Meryem Cup). Second consecutive cut suffered by Virginia Elena Carta, the other blue in the race, 98th with 153 (77 76, +7). Lily May Humphreys, 20 years old from Chelmsford, professional since 2021, signed the first title in her circuit in her 27th presence.
So far she had only achieved one top ten finish and last year she finished 95th in the Race To Costa del Sol (order of merit). She came back from sixth place recovering the six shots she had from Moa Folke, leader after 54 holes, with a 67 (-6, seven birdies, a bogey) and the prowess earned her a check for 45,000 euros on prize money of 300,000 euros.
The LET will now remain in South Africa where the Investec South African Women’s Open (8-11 March) will take place at the Steenberg Golf Club in Cape Town. The only blue in the field Alessandra Fanali. The prize pool will be 320,000 euros.
