
The Monmouth University men’s tennis team defeated Hofstra by a final score of 4-1, Saturday afternoon at the Outdoor Tennis Complex. Monmouth is back at home on Wednesday afternoon when it hosts St. John’s at 3 p.m. The visitors won the double point to take an early lead before Monmouth earned four successive single points in a competitive match.
Monmouth took three sets at No. 1 and No. 3 with Niels Van Noord and Victor Castro gaining points. Dmitry Bezborodov took a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 in singles, while Christof Zeiler took a straight set at No. 5. Monmouth improved to 14-4 overall and 2-1 in CAA play and won its eighth straight game.
