Nick Kyrgios wasn’t impressed after hearing that Stefanos Tsitsipas said that he acted like “a clown” during their Wimbledon match. In a very heated and tense Wimbledon third-round match, Kyrgios defeated Tsitsipas 6-7 (2) 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7).
“He was the one who broke our relationship. I didn’t do anything. In 2022 Wimbledon I was only trying to compete, while he was playing the clown. It also depends on how he wakes up each day,” Tsitsipas said. Kyrgios shared the quote on his Instagram Story and wrote: “Embarrassing quote whilst we all look at the scoreboard hahaha.”

Kyrgios also addressed Tsitsipas’ comments on Twitter, writing: “Right.
This the match he hit someone in the crowd, belted another ball out of the stadium and got taught a lesson in front of another full stadium.”

What was said after the Kyrgios-Tsitsipas match?
After losing to Kyrgios at Wimbledon, Tsitsipas described the Australian as “an evil bully.” “Yeah, it’s constant bullying.
That’s what he does. He bullies the opponents. He was probably a bully at school himself. I don’t like bullies. I don’t like people that put other people down. He has some good traits in his character, as well. But when he also has a very evil side to him, which if it’s exposed, it can really do a lot of harm and bad to the people around him,” Tsitsipas said.
When Kyrgios was asked about Tsitsipas’ comments, he said the Greek was just “soft.” “The people I’m playing at Wimbledon, they’re not—he’s that soft, to come in here and say I bullied him, that’s just soft. We’re not cut from the same cloth.
I go up against guys who are true competitors,” Kyrgios said. Kyrgios and Tsitsipas had their moments in the past but they appeared to be on good terms going into their Wimbledon match. But the Wimbledon match showed that there was still tension between them.
