
South African Oliver Bekker was the star of the Dimension Data Pro-Am which he won with 267 (67 68 64 68, -22) strokes, four ahead of Swede Adam Blomme, second with 271 (-18). Azzurri in mid-table: Renato Paratore ranked 28th with 280 (72 68 70 70, -9), Andrea Pavan 34th with 281 (68 74 69 70, -8) and Lorenzo Scalise 46th with 282 (68 73 71 70, -7).

The tournament, organized jointly by the Challenge Tour and the Sunshine Tour, was held in George, South Africa, with the Pro-Am formula (one pro and one amateur) on the three courses of the Fancourt Golf Estate (Montagu Course par 72, Outeniqua Course par 72, The Links Course par 73) all designed by South African golf icon Gary Player and considered among the 20 best in the country, where the 156 competitors alternated for three rounds and then the 70 remaining after the cut to 54 holes concluded on the Montagu.
Oliver Bekker, 38 years old from Pretoria, signed the eighth title on the South African circuit which is also the first on the Challenge Tour. He led the final lap with a good pace in 68 shots (-4, five birdies, one bogey) which it made it possible to keep the opponents at a safe distance.
For the feat he received a check for 58,274 euros out of a prize pool of around 370,000 euros (7,000,000 rands the official figure). In third place with 273 (-16) the Englishman Chris Paisley and the South African Hennie O’Kennedy, in fifth with 274 (-15) another home player, Brandon Stone, and in sixth with 275 (-14) another South African, JJ Senekal, together with the Irish Conor Purcell and the French Ugo Coussaud.
The three Italians led the final round all in 70 (-2) shots: Paratore, last week 14th in the Bain’s Whiskey Cape Town Open, with six birdies and two double bogeys, Pavan, fourth on the same occasion, with four birdies and two bogeys, and Scalise with five birdies and three bogeys.
