Rory Mcilroy is excited ahead of the start of the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club. The Northern Irishman will have a chance to win this important Masters for the first time in his career and do a great feat by doing so.
As part of the pre-conference before the Masters began, Rory spoke about a number of topics, including LIV Golfers and the relationship they currently have with them. There was an opportunity for Rory to practice with Brooks Koepka and he confirmed that he has good relations with most of them, including Brooks Koepka.
“I see some of these guys at home, I see Brooks a lot, I see DJ a lot, we sort of practice at the same place,” McIlroy said, as quoted by sports.yahoo.com
Rory McIlroy: It’s interpersonal relationships
Rory McIlroy emphasized that constant contact with someone results in closer relationships.
He will, however, focus his energy on winning the tournament regardless of who plays in it. The LIV Golfers are hoping their player will win, and let’s see if that ends up happening. “As you said, I think the more face time you get with some people, the more comfortable you become in some way.
I’m going to go play nine holes here with Brooks in a little bit. And look, it’s a very nuanced situation and there’s different dynamics. You know, it’s okay to get on with Brooks and DJ and maybe not get on with some other guys that went to LIV, right.
It’s interpersonal relationships, that’s just how it goes. But this week and this tournament is way bigger than any of that, I feel, and it’s just great that all of the best players in the world are together again for the first time in what seems to be quite a while.”
