Serena Williams has talked about her love of travel, especially her first road trips in Southern California when she was young. Serena said she would like her husband Alexis Ohanian to take their family on various road trips.
She said: “I always try to push my husband to say, we go on road trips. It has so many fond memories attached to it.” Those road trips are something the WTA legend is now missing following her marriage. Serena revealed how she would go on a car ride to various locations with her father.
During the interview, the former US star said it was their father, Richard Williams, who took them to various places to witness different cultures. They have driven to Florida from California and other locations including the Grand Canyon.
Serena who also went to Mexico once because they lived in Southern California then. She also said those road trips were often something she associates fond memories with. Williams further said that it was so much family time when they were on their road adventures.
Serena Williams concluded her tennis career in September with a third-round loss to Ajla Tomljanovic, 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-1 at the US Open. The American, after her motherhood, had no longer appeared in dazzling shape and so she decided to hang up her racket at the age of 41.
She is considered one of the most important tennis players in the history of the Game, and with a prize pool of over 94 million dollars she is the woman to have earned the most.
