The list of champions who have decided to join The Golf League (TGL), a league launched by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, in collaboration with the PGA Tour, which will start in January 2024 and will see technology as the protagonist, is getting longer.
After Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Adam Scott, it’s Matt Fitzpatrick’s turn.

“We are thrilled to welcome another big name to an already star-studded team,” said Tiger Woods in Fitzpatrick’s greeting.
The new green show, with competitions on virtual courses, will see the champions perform on Monday evening. And as far as the world Top 10 is concerned, there are already five players who have chosen the TGL, conceived as a response to the economic advance of the Arab Super League.
In addition to the co-founder of the League, world number 1 McIlroy, here are Rahm (third), Morikawa (seventh), Thomas (ninth) and Fitzpatrick (tenth). Eldrick Tont Woods (born December 30, 1975), better known as Tiger Woods, is an American golfer.
Considered among the best golfers of all time, as well as the best of the modern era, in his more than twenty-year career he won 110 professional tournaments, including 15 majors, making him the most successful player in history ; held the number one position in the OWG world rankings for a total of 683 weeks, 281 of which were consecutive weeks (from June 12, 2005 to October 30, 2010), and is the only golfer to have won all four majors in the modern era within a single year (between 2000 and 2001).
In 2014, he became the first sportsman in the world to surpass one billion dollars in earnings from wins and sponsorships. In 2019, US President Donald Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States of America.
Eldrick Tront Woods was born to an African American father, Earl and a Thai mother, Kultida. Nicknamed “Tiger” by his father, he started playing golf practically from the time he could walk and was soon considered something of a child prodigy of the specialty.
In 1990, at the age of fifteen, he was the youngest golfer to win the National Junior Championships, a success he also repeated in the following two years. After winning three consecutive US amateur circuit titles (1994, 1995 and 1996), he turned pro, winning two circuit tournaments in his first year.
