Andy Murray has been granted a main draw wildcard into next week’s ATP event in Doha, per Michal Samulski. Murray, 35, is set to make his seventh appearance in Doha.

Murray debuted in Doha 16 years ago, when he made the final before losing to Ivan Ljubicic.
After falling just short of winning Doha in his debut, Murray claimed back-to-back titles at the tournament in 2008 and 2009. Murray didn’t play in Doha again until 2014, when he was surprisingly beaten in the round-of-16.
Murray then ended runner-up to Novak Djokovic in the 2017 Doha final, before losing in the round-of-16 at the tournament last year.
Murray set for Doha, Dubai
Previously, Murray was awarded a main draw wildcard into Dubai, which is kicking off on February 27th.
In recent days, Murray has been training in Dubai and he has nothing but good to say about the facilities there. “Everything has been super easy and smooth. The facilities are fantastic, great gyms — they’ve even got a gym just for the players to use now, which is really nice.
The tournament has changed a lot since the first time I was here. I mean, the whole city has changed, but the tournament has evolved. With the hotel here on-site now, it is brilliant for the players; it’s so easy and convenient, you spend no time in cars, or traffic, or anything.
You’re right here. They always have brilliant food, great crowds, and lots of practice courts. I think the players have voted Dubai as one of the best ATP 500 events multiple times in the last 10 years or so, which says a lot.
And each year the organizers keep improving it, so there’s really nothing to complain about,” Murray told The National. Meanwhile, Murray is set to play for the first time since his Australian Open heroics. It remains to be seen how will Murray do in Doha.
