Lorenzo Musetti and Camilla Rosatello were clearly defeated by the Poles Hubert Hurkacz and Iga Swiatek, at the United Cup, but the Italian repechage is almost certain. Italy’s win-loss balance between the groups and the City Final is, in fact, better than that of Great Britain, defeated by the United States.
The Italians started with the same score as Greece and Croatia, protagonists of the other City Final of the event. But neither of the two nations can finish, in the event of a 3-2 defeat, with a better set quotient than Italy.
Italy-Poland mixed doubles which, net of the scorching result, also gave a great show thanks to the fairy hand of Lorenzo Musetti, protagonist of a sensational blow at dawn of the second set. After a series of exchanges, Swiatek places a particularly angular reply but not enough for the blue talent, who scores a magic point with his backhand, as the images clearly show.
