Vanderbilt University men’s tennis team will compete this ITA Kickoff Weekend, with the match played yesterday, Friday, against USC, in Los Angeles. Then, as reported by the Vanderbilt Unversity website, Commodores will face UCLA or Memphis on Sunday.
After this weekend, then Commodores will play at home on 4 February 2023 against Princeton (11:00am) and Tennessee State (3:30pm). This weekend marks the 13th appearance of Vanderbilt University men’s tennis team at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, since the inaugural tournament in 2009.
ITA Kickoff Weekend brings together the top 60 men’s and women’s tennis teams to take part in highly competitive matches. The tournament will follow the traditional collegiate format with teams playing a best-of-seven game, consisting of six points from singles and one point from doubles.
With four teams at each host venue, the winners of the opening round of matches will compete in the second round to determine who reaches the 2023 ITA National Team Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois.
