
Vanderbilt women’s tennis team defeated Midstate Middle Tennessee State University 7-0. Now Commodores will travel to Oxford, Mississippi, to take on Ole Miss on Friday As reported by the Vandebilt University website, Amy Stevens and Holly Staff brought the Dores within one run to clinch the doubles point.
Celia-Belle Mohr and Marcella Cruz strengthened the team lead by one with their win on court 1. In singles, the Dores dominated. Bridget Stammel got there before her with her 6-0, 6-1 3-court win. Shortly thereafter, Mohr finished on 1-court, defeating MTSU’s Love-Star Alexis 6-1, 6-0.
Dasha Kourkina won the match for Vandy on court 6. Commodores wrapped up the rest of the singles matches with wins by Staff, Cruz and Stevens.
